This original 426 Hemi, 4 speed 1968 Road Runner was completely restored in 2009 with less than 100 miles put on it since its completion.
The car is flawlessly painted in its original color of Y2 Sunfire Yellow with a D4L Oyster and Fawn interior. A very unusual combination but that is the way came from the factory. The 1/4's and floors are original to the car. This was NOT a rusty car that has had most of its sheetmetal replaced. The current motor in the car is a new 426 Hemi short block displacing 500 c.i. with the correct original top end parts (heads, intake, carbs, exhaust). The car has correct # and dated carbs that were beautifully rebuilt and detailed by Harm's Automotive. The correct dual point Prestolite distributor is in place as is int correct 2898048 radiator. All of the best date coded equipment was used in the engine bay. The factory chrome air cleaner was also re-chromed.
The suspension components have all been painted in colors to simulate bare metal appearance but will not rust as they would if left unpainted. All of these components were blasted, spray painted and painted with a paint gun, not an aerosol can. The glass and trim on the car are very nice. The glass is original date coded glass except the windshield which was replaced with a reproduction AMD piece that does have the Chrysler Penta Star on it. Tail light lenses and bezels are new reproductiions from BE&A Parts. The bumpers have been nicely re-chromed and the door handles are new Chrysler parts.
The interior is all new from Legendary Interiors, which include, new seat covers front and rear, new door panels, new head liner and carpet. The dash was completely disassembled and correctly painted and the dash pads are mint originals.
